If you’ve paid any attention to this blog (well, back when it was more active) you might have noticed that my life has been pretty chaotic for the last…forever? Well, for the last three years, anyway. I’ve been dodging from one identity to another, and from crisis to crisis.
My whole life totally collapsed back in 2015 when I had to drop out of my graduate program due to mental health issues. Even though I’ve been accepted into another program at another university, things have been rough until quite recently. Yet my life has somehow begun to stabilize.
I was born with Saturn in Sagittarius. My Saturn return began in December of 2014, and is now coming to an end. I’m not an overly enthusiastic proponent of astrology (it often seems too deterministic), but I do believe in cycles. Saturn return is a pretty powerful cycle.
I was born with the moon at zero degrees in Cancer, and I celebrate my lunar return every month during the transit from Gemini. It’s a pleasant time for me, as my intuition is heightened and I can feel My Lady’s presence that much better.
Though Lady Saraswati is not a “moon goddess”, her iconography is rich with lunar imagery. She wears a crescent moon as her crown, and her praise invariably includes references to the beauty and splendor of the full moon. Incorporating lunar observances into my practice helps me connect with that aspect of her.
I’ve been wanting to go deeper into my Tarot studies lately, but my efforts so far haven’t been promising. Then on two separate occasions today, I decided to pull a Tarot card for myself. Both times I drew Trump II, The High Priestess. This card is symbolic of intuition and inner knowledge. It is also often My Lady Saraswati’s “calling card,” as it invariably shows up when She has something to say.
This afternoon I remembered that the moon is assigned to the High Priestess, and I felt a certain nudge to check up on the moon’s current position in the Zodiac. As of this writing, it is in roughly the same place it is on my natal chart – transitioning from Gemini to Cancer.
